Well today started off with a phone call at 6:30am from Dr H! I should be glad really as her attitude is already 100% better than the attitude of Dr B! I quickly scurry out of bed with the phone so not to wake all the bodies that sleep around me. (Have I mentioned that the kids seem terribly anxious at night time and are sleeping in my room on the floor? I guess I am a little understanding of night anxiety at the moment considering I sleep with a light on and a mobile phone in my hand!!) Anyway, Dr H wanted to let us know that the results for the the tumor marking bloods was back. It appears they are all perfect. She is feeling confident that whatever is in there it isn't too sinister!
Oh way - more confirmation that Martin as an exotic worm inside him. I keep thinking of that man in Europe who was told he had stomach cancer after having a cat scan.... when they went in to operate on him they found a fir tree!!! Yep that's it, Martin has an exotic worm or an apricot tree!!! I feel like I can have a slightly normal day today with those thoughts!
Martin has been wanting to take the boys to Movieworld for a bonding moment for quite some time, so today is the day!! I will have a day with the girls while he swings upside with the boys! Neither of the girls are overly pleased that they are staying home while the boys have such an adventure! I promise to make it up to them somehow!
The girls and I head back to our normal home, I want to spend a little bit of time cleaning it so we can come back and forth without the stress of it over my head. It feels good to have some energy to do some cleaning!! We then head off to our a spa pedicure and manicure together. They looked soooo cute sitting up in those big chairs. Charlotte was too short to sit back and had to sit on the edge in order for her feet to sit into the water - but she didn't seem to care! She laughed and smiled the whole time and Sophie had a very content look on her face! They chose their nail polish colours and an hour of pampering begun! After that we headed to McDonalds for some lunch... I had my customary take-away of water and nibbled some pita bread! It is hard to believe that I have been addicted to Coke (as in cola) for years and could not function without it! I haven't had one for a week and the thought of ever drinking that stuff makes me feel sick! After McDonalds Sophie asks if we can do some 'girly' shopping. Big breath Pippa you can do it! I hate shopping at the best of times, but I compromise and tell her we will just go up to the hypermarket. They seem happy with that and both find a new (cheap) outfit each. Feeling completely pampered we head back to our summer house and begin to set up the Christmas tree. My mum's Christmas tree is very pretty and the girls love discovering all the decorations. I have always bought the decorations that wont make me cry when they are broken so mum's looks very different from ours!!
The boys arrive home and exchange day stories with the girls. Benj comes up to me and says "No offense to daddy, we had fun and everything, but next time can we spend a day with you?!" I hadn't deliberately set out to compete on who can give the best day out, but felt a little better knowing I had pulled myself together for a day to invest into my girls!
Church tonight was good. I actually felt normal. I told my pastor's wife the news that Martin's blood tests were all good and that maybe it is something really strange and random going on in there.
